Influence ... On Directions and Priorities

Board Participation, Nomination and Voting
Participation on the board of directors is open to all OGF members via one of two paths - Organizational or At-large. Members that sponsor at the Platinum level are eligible for one of the Organizational board seats and are eligible to vote for the Organizational and At-large nominees. Gold participants vote for the nominees for the At-Large board seats. All members can nominate candidates for the At-large seats and all members (except Platinum members) are eligible to serve as At-Large directors. Members appointed to the board provide guidance and oversight through their active leadership and participation. Responsibilities include:
  • Legal and fiduciary responsibility for the overall heath and success of the organization
  • Approval of strategic and financial plans, priorities, policies and procedures
  • Appointment of the President/CEO
  • Appointment of Vice Presidents and Area Directors from nominees supplied by the Nominating Committee
  • Appointment of the Advisory Committee from nominees supplied by the committee chair and the President
OGF Organizational Leadership Positions
Participating in a leadership capacity provides an exceptional opportunity to influence the direction of OGF. Members can participate in all activities of the organization, including leadership of groups (Group Chairs); areas (Area Directors) and functions (Vice Presidents). Members are eligible for nomination for At-Large Board of Director seats along with Advisory Committee and Nominating Committee positions.

Recognition ... As a Leader Driving Grid Adoption

OGF Event Sponsorship Credits
OGF events regularly attract 200-500 leaders, technologists and existing users who gather to develop standards and workshop best practices. Event sponsorship opportunities are outlined in the Sponsorship Prospectus published 2-3 months prior to each event and usually include exhibition space, co-branded promotional items, meals/breaks/receptions etc. This is a great opportunity for organizations to gain exposure with a wide spectrum of stakeholders, leaders and decision makers in the grid community; to showcase their products and services; to communicate their brand and position their organization as a thought leader and innovator; to generate leads by reaching key decision makers in the buying cycle; and to network and make connections.

Brand Visibility through OGF Marketing Channels
OGF is an independent voice in the grid industry and, as such, garners significant interest from grid experts, leaders and users, and from the media and analyst community. OGF's website contains a Sponsor Showcase section on its home page where sponsor logos rotate to provide a high level of visibility. OGF's signage, newsletters and collateral materials provide an additional opportunity to highlight our members. Your organization will gain visibility through OGF's website and printed materials distributed regularly to grid users. The prominence of logo placement, level of visibility and frequency of display are based on the membership level. Platinum members receive the highest visibility and frequency in OGF marketing channels. Gold members receive less prominent placement and with less frequency but still experience significant exposure of their company name and logo. Silver membership includes logo and name placement commensurate with their sponsorship level.

Product/Marketing Materials in OGF Resource Center
OGF maintains a Grid Resource Center on our website to outreach to, and help educate, those just get started in Grids or those wanting to learn more about a specific topic of interest. Members are encouraged to provide white papers, case studies, ROI studies, presentations, webinars and articles for the Resource Center. Through the Resource Center, organizations gain visibility for their brand, products and solutions; and signal that they are an industry leader driving standards and interoperability. The Resource Center also features the "Grid Thought Leadership Series" that provides thought leaders in the Grid and distributed computing community the opportunity to express their ideas, opinions and perspectives regarding a range of evolving hot topics and issues in Grid. This provides an opportunity for both organizations and individuals to reach a wide and diverse Grid audience.
