Research Transformed by CyberInfrastructure
(90 mins)
Cyberainfrastructure transforms research, and cyberinfrastructure can demand different skills and orientation
from researchers and whole discipline communities. This panel will feature researchers who have seen
their work transformed – collaborations made possible, mountains of data rendered intelligible, remote
instrumentation accessed. It will also feature researchers who see cyberinfrastructure as demanding very
different skills and orientation from their discipline communities. In short in many different ways, access to
cyberinfrastructure transforms the research enterprise.
Speakers:
Dr. Chris Pritchett, Professor, Physics and Astronomy, University of Victoria
Dr. John Bonnett, Canada Research Chair in Digital Humanities, Brock University
