Join or audit a standards group by
subscribing to its email list
The primary standards work of the OGF is done in its working groups. By joining or auditing a working group you can keep abreast of, or participate in, key discussion topics and document development. You may audit or join as many working groups as are of interest to you. Read and comment on recent draft
specifications
The primary products of the Open Grid Forum are the specifications and best practices that result from working group and research group activities. When a group has reached consensus on a draft document (called a Grid Working Draft or GWD), it is submitted and begins to move through a prescribed process toward publication. Draft documents are available for viewing in the "Public Comments" section on the OGF website.
Attend a Vendor Workshop
Vendor workshops bring vendors and developers together with OGF standards representatives to identify issues and constraints to adopting OGF standards. Vendor workshops are intended to ensure that standards reflect the economic interests and practical concerns of vendors & developers who implement the standards. Bring your perspective as a vendor/developer and help influence the important standards that are being developed by OGF for grid implementations worldwide.
Share your expertise and learn from
others in an Enterprise community group
The Enterprise functional area is responsible for working with business, IT and vendor communities to enable productive forums to identify and align requirements; workshop solutions; and share progress. Much of the work of the Enterprise community is done in its group activities. By joining or auditing a community group you can keep abreast of, or participate in, key discussion topics. Attend an Enterprise session at the
next OGF event
OGF meets several times a year in various global venues that provide an excellent opportunity to network with grid veterans. At least once per year, the OGF has an event with a grid program consisting of tutorials, workshops, keynote talks and panels presenting grid insights pertinent to commercial and research enterprises. Additional events are geared primarily toward standards building activities within OGF's groups, but also provide workshops and informational talks about trends and advancements in grid computing. Facilitate your company becoming an
organizational member of OGF
OGF organizational members are leaders in the grid industry - driving broad adoption of grid technologies and solutions. As an independent voice in the grid landscape, OGF provides organizations opportunities to influence and educate a broad spectrum of users while increasing visibility for your brand, products and solutions. Attend an e-Science session at the
next OGF event
OGF meets several times a year in various global venues and provides an excellent opportunity to network with grid veterans. At least once per year, the OGF has an event with a grid program consisting of tutorials, workshops, keynote talks and panels presenting grid insights pertinent to commercial and research enterprises. eScience programs include sessions by long standing groups such as interoperability, applications, and reliability; spontaneous panels and workshops organized with a short lead time; and refereed workshops on major topics organized with a long lead time to ensure top quality. Network with other researchers in an eScience community group
The eScience function is responsible for working with scientific, engineering and educational communities to identify and align requirements; workshop solutions; and share progress. The scientific, engineering and educational communities are critical to the success of the OGF. Much of the work of the eScience community is done in its group activities. Engage in the leadership of OGF
The OGF is an open, community driven organization with leadership that represents the priorities and interests of its participants. Participating in a leadership capacity provides an exceptional opportunity to influence the direction of OGF. Members can participate in all activities of the new organization, including leadership of groups (Group Chairs); areas (Area Directors) and functions (Vice Presidents). Members are eligible for nomination for At-Large Board of Director seats along with Advisory Committee, Nominating Committee and select Technical Strategy Committee positions.

Engage in the Marketing Strategy
Committee as an Area Director
The Marketing function develops key messages and marketing-related content to promote the value and progress of the OGF to our target audiences and grid solutions in the broader context of the distributed computing industry. Marketing manages communication activities and relationships with external marketing firms and PR agencies. Marketing manages event planning and strategy and facilitates comprehensive event planning, including financial and attendee satisfaction metrics. Communicate grid and OGF value in
EMEA and Asia Pacific regions
OGF has EMEA and Asia Pacific regional areas lead and staffed by members that have special interest or focus in those regions. Regional activities consist of recruiting membership in the region, promoting and marketing OGF objectives and activities in the region, driving regional standards adoption, liaisoning with relevant regional organizations, and proving feedback on regional requirements for standardization.
